Two Tiered Retaining wall repair

This project took place in Huntsville,Alabama. The home was located in on a hillside and had an old cement retaining wall that had been compromised. We had to come in and excavate the existing wall, so we can put a new one it it’s place. After removing all the debris we properly dug out and installed the retaining walls. The walls themselves were under 4 feet so no engineering plans were needed. We did take precautions; by burying a full block, placing a drain behind the wall, and core/back filling the retaining wall blocks with drainage gravel. A natural stone walk way was also added using boulders from a local quarry. The end result was a new retaining wall with a nice stair case leading to the lower part of the house.
